Walmart (WMT) said it has developed a hybrid cloud system that allows the retailer to switch between cloud providers and its own servers, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

The new system reportedly utilizes third-party platforms from Microsoft (MSFT) and Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google as well as an internal server network.

The hybrid cloud environment has helped Walmart save cloud costs and improve performance, according to the report.
