Meme stock favorite GameStop (GME) rose 3.1% premarket, after slipping 6.7% Monday. The company appointed Nir Patel as chief operating officer. Companion AMC Entertainment Holdings (AMC) was up 3.9% premarket, after a 0.9% fall Monday.
Bucking the trend, Twitter shed 2.5% premarket, adding to a 8.2% decline Monday. Tesla chief executive Elon Musk said his planned takeover bid of Twitter for $44 billion can't proceed until there is clarity on the proportion of fake accounts on the social media giant, according to a tweet Tuesday.
Among other stocks in focus, Apple (AAPL) was up 2% premarket, after a 1.1% decline Monday, while Facebook parent Meta Platforms (FB) advanced 1.9% premarket, adding to a 0.7% rise Monday.
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) was up 4.1% before the opening bell, rebounding from a 0.9% fall Monday. Piper Sandler upgraded the stock to overweight from neutral and increased its price target to $140 from $98 a share.
Home Depot (HD) surged 4.7% premarket, after a marginal decline Monday. On Tuesday, the company reported higher fiscal Q1 earnings and sales and raised its full-year fiscal 2022 outlook.
