Surface Oncology Secures $30 Million Milestone Payment After First Patient Dosed in Study; Shares Rise

Surface Oncology (SURF) said Thursday that it has received a $30 million milestone payment as GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has dosed the first patient in a phase 1 study of GSK4381562 in patients with solid tumors.

The immuno-oncology firm said it is eligible to receive an additional $700 million in future milestone payments as well as tiered royalties on global net sales.

Shares rose 13% in premarket trading.
