Revenue was $862.3 million for the quarter ended Jan. 28, compared with $677.2 million a year ago. The consensus estimate from analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $866 million.
Looking ahead, the company said it expects Q3 revenue of about $800 million due to headwinds from elevated COVID-19 case counts early in the quarter. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect revenue of $787.3 million for the fiscal quarter.
For the second half of fiscal 2022, the company expects capital expenditures of about $600 million. It also expects to open two new Cracker Barrel locations and nine to 11 new Maple Street Biscuit locations, according to a statement.
Shares of the company declined 1.9% ahead of Tuesday's market open.
