Brookdale Senior Living (BKD) on Monday posted a Q4 net loss of $0.44 per share, which widened from its loss of $0.24 per share in the prior-year period.
Two analysts polled by Capital IQ called for a GAAP loss of $0.43 per share.
Revenue for the quarter was $643.9 million, down from $852.2 million reported a year earlier by the operator of senior living communities. Four analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $645.9 million.
For 2022, the company said it is expecting revenue per available unit growth of 10% to 12%.
Shares were up 18% in midday Tuesday trading while the trading volume was approaching 5.6 million against a daily average of 2.5 million shares.
