Meme stock staple GameStop (GME) sank 6.6%, while Tesla (TSLA), which received a price target upgrade from RBC Capital to $1,045 from $1,005, was up 0.6%. Meanwhile, according to media reports, Canada's transportation regulator is investigating the US electric car maker's Model Y and Model 3 electric cars on concerns over faulty heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Tesla is also delaying the start of production of its Cybertruck to Q1 2023 from late this year. In a tweet, CEO Elon Musk that some of the company's merchandise is now "buyable with dogecoin."
AMC Entertainment (AMC), another forum favorite, lost 2% after gaining in premarket trading, and technology giant Microsoft (MSFT) climbed 1.1%.
Software company Palantir Technologies (PLTR) continued its premarket slide and declined 0.7%. ContextLogic (WISH) was down 0.5%.
Robinhood Markets (HOOD) slipped 1.6%, while Virgin Galactic (SPCE) was up 0.4%. Canaccord Genuity revised the price target on the American spaceflight company to $36 from $44.
Graphics card maker Nvidia (NVDA) advanced slightly 0.3%, and Lucid (LCID) rallied 1.3%. The California-based electric vehicle manufacturer is in discussions with Saudi Arabia to build an electric vehicle factory in the kingdom by 2025 or 2026, according to media reports earlier in the week.
