Online spending between early November and late December totaled $1.14 trillion globally, up from $1.1 trillion over a similar period a year earlier. US consumers spent $257 billion on online purchases ahead of holidays versus $236 billion in 2020, Salesforce said.
The report analyzed shopping data from more than 1 billion shoppers on the Salesforce Customer 360 platform, Digital sales on Salesforce's cloud-based commerce platform grew 21% year-over-year, the company said.
Shares were up 1% in recent trading.
