Delta Apparel (DLA) said late Tuesday it named Simone Walsh chief financial officer and treasurer.

Walsh succeeds Deborah Merrill, who submitted her resignation but agreed to remain with the company through Jan. 22 to assist with an orderly transition, according to the clothing company's statement.

Walsh was most recently deputy controller of Novelis, Delta Apparel said.
