Jewett-Cameron Trading Co (JCTCF) Thursday night reported fiscal Q3 net income of $0.69 per share, up from $0.40 per share during the same quarter last year, while net sales for the lumber, specialty metals and seeds supplier grew 33.3% over year-ago levels to $21.6 million during the three months ended May 31.

The company said its Q3 earnings benefitted from a $687,387 one-time gain following the forgiveness of its Paycheck Protection Program loans. Analyst estimates were not available for comparison.

Jewett-Cameron share were surging in after-hours trading, rising over 18% in Thursday's extended session.
