According to the report, Carlyle Group (CG), which owns Golden Goose, has invited several companies to bid until mid-December as part of an auction that is expected to close early next year.
VF Corp. owns brands including North Face, Eastpak and Timberland, while Permira owns Valentino and Hugo Boss.
A source said Carlyle Group is expecting to receive offers that will value Golden Goose at least 1.2 billion euros ($1.32 billion). Meanwhile, another source said PVH Corp. (PVH) and Tapestry (TPR) may also bid for the shoe brand.
PVH owns Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, while Tapestry owns Coach and Kate Spade.
