The company became an acquisition target after emerging from bankruptcy protection 15 months ago and as of December 2018 had $3.2 billion in debt. The identity of the buyout firm was not immediately clear and it was uncertain whether the offer would lead to a deal, Reuters said.
Avaya declined to comment on the report.
